About Kendyl’s Jewels
Kendyl’s Jewels began from the combination of a grandma’s love and creativity. Kendyl built her brand from the bottom up, from using jewelry-making as a creative outlet and a way to bond with her grandma, to going viral and making stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces for not only her growing small business, but also celebrities! Her pieces reflect her love for her family, an outlet to express her creativity and reconnect to her childhood, and her concern for the environment by striving for sustainability in her packaging and her art itself.

What inspired you to start your business? What’s your story?
Kendyl, the founder of Kendyl’s Jewels, created her jewelry business while looking for a way to express her creativity. She dabbled in sewing, embroidering, cross-stitch, drawing, painting, pottery, and chalk before finding a connection to jewelry-making with the help of her grandma. Although their art styles differ, jewelry-making gave them an excuse to spend quality time together in something they both enjoy with people they love. As she learned more about jewelry-making, her friends and family complimented her work, eventually encouraging her to start her own business.
What’s one of your favorite things you’ve made?
Kendyl’s favorite pieces are her starfish tops, inspired by mermaid starfish and shell tops! These unique and beautiful pieces allow her to stay in touch with her inner child, inspiring her to create one of a kind things like these tops. Another favorite of hers is her Barbie Mariposa fully beaded top that you may have seen as it went viral online and even caught the attention of her first celebrity customer, SZA!
What are your thoughts on the importance of sustainability for small businesses?
As a small business owner, Kendyl prioritizes sustainability by keeping her environmental impact at the forefront of her mind. She uses recyclable packaging and reuses packing paper from packages she receives. When incorporating nature into her art, such as pretty shells from the beach, she is always mindful to return most of what she picks up in hopes of lessening her impact on marine life.
