About Kallón
Kallón is a small business that creates comfort through anything from candles to skincare. Founded by Kelly, its goal is to remind people to take joy in even the slow moments of life because that is the first step of self-care. She was inspired to create this business during the pandemic because, within the hours that one had to spend at home with themselves, also came the need to have self-love through self-care, something that Kallón achieves through their soothing and sustainable products.

What inspired you to start your business? What’s your story?
In the chaos of the pandemic, Kallón was created. Kelly, Kallón’s founder, wanted to emphasize the importance of self-care by making something that anyone can use to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and have a sense of calm: skincare and candles. The name Kallón itself means “beauty that is more than skin deep,” a beautiful message that promotes the calm, comfort, and self-care that Kelly’s small business stands for. With the support of her friends and family, her own hard work, and her passion, Kallòn expanded from skincare into candles and bath products, all working towards the single goal of encouraging people to stop and smell the roses – or rather to stop and smell a candle.
What’s one of your favorite things you’ve made?
Kelly’s favorite product is her Maple Chai candle. This candle represents both her passion and the calm that Kallòn is all about. It began with Kelly’s desire to take those cozy moments and crisp mornings and put them into a candle. After several test pours, she finally achieved the perfect balance between warmth and softness, creating a scent that instantly evokes calm, comfort, and intentional self-care.
What are your thoughts on the importance of sustainability for small businesses?
Sustainability has always been important to Kelly and something that she promotes in Kallòn through recyclable shipping boxes, minimal packaging, vessels that can be reused or repurposed to reduce waste, and small batch production. Kelly will continue exploring how she can further incorporate sustainability within Kallòn and will keep sustainability at the forefront of her decisions because she knows that sustainability is a journey, not something that occurs overnight, that is a crucial responsibility of all small businesses.
