Sophia is a junior at Parkview High School in Georgia with a passion for the intersection of data science and environmental advocacy. Her journey began when she switched to sustainable packaging for her small Etsy business — a decision that not only made her small business more eco-friendly, but also encouraged a growing community of small businesses to do the same. Whether conducting machine learning research, serving as the Outreach Coordinator on PGS National Youth Leadership Team, or leading her environmental nonprofit, Clean Choices Together, Sophia is committed to using data science to create meaningful impact. In her free time, you can find Sophia playing the cello, watching Chinese variety shows, or drying far too many flowers to preserve in handmade necklaces.
