About Beads and Boba
A mother’s love, perseverance, and a dream are the secret recipe to success when it comes to the jewelry business, Beads and Boba. Beads and Boba’s founder gained the inspiration to start a small business with the support of her mother at just eight years old, which acted as the string that tied together her plans into a coherent collection of beautiful bracelets. While continuing to pursue this dream, Beads and Boba’s founder makes a conscious effort to package her products in reusable, yet durable material to ensure that her products are made with love from the handmade jewelry to the sustainable packaging. Thought and care are beaded onto each piece, carrying their own unique sparkle that can be carried with you wherever, whenever, forever.

What inspired you to start your business? What’s your story? (Limit: 200 words)
When I was only eight years old, mom inspired me to start my business. I am still very young and have so much experience in business now (6+ years). She encouraged me and told me I was good enough. She gave me advice and now I am running a small business with 9.4k followers! I am so grateful for each and every single person that follows me. My mom and I both work together to sell bracelets. She is truly the sweetest. I love her so much. It has been a rocky journey.. last year, things began heading downhill for my small business. Recently, things are looking up. I am so grateful for my mom!
What’s one of your favorite things you’ve made? Feel free to share what inspired it, how you made it, and why it’s your favorite!
Although I make a lot of bracelets, I cannot choose which one is my favorite! I love them all and pour my heart into every single piece. I strive to get better every day.
What are your thoughts on the importance of sustainability for small businesses? If you use eco-friendly packaging, we’d love to hear how—whether that’s paper holders for your jewelry, cardboard shipping boxes, or anything else. If you don’t yet, what are your future hopes or has CCT influenced your perspective in any way?
Being completely transparent, sustainability is actually something I need to work on myself. It was so difficult for me to create a good routine for success in my business. You see, I took a break from posting everyday and lost 6k followers in less than a year. I am just now gaining followers again with staying consistent. I hope to get better everyday and of course upgrade my business and products to become more eco-friendly! Here, we package our items safely using plastic bags, bubble wrap, and plenty of stickers. Once things take off, we hope to upgrade to eco-safe packaging!
